About: Kristyn was born and raised in Utica, NY area. In 2009, Kristyn graduated with her B.S. in Business, concentration in Marketing in S.U.N.Y Oswego. She started her professional career in fundraising and marketing for federal and state political campaigns. She then grew her experience in policy as the Minority Analyst for the Oneida County Board of Legislators. It didn't take long for her to feel as though something was missing in her professions. In 2012, Kristyn began her career at United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area, where she was able to fulfill the desire to better her community and help her enable other community members to do the same. Kristyn's favorite part about working at United Way, is that at the end of the day she and multiple volunteers and donors have helped 1 in 4 people in her community.

About: Morgan was born and raised in Sauquoit, NY. In 2013, Morgan graduated from Herkimer College with an Associate’s Degree in Travel and Events Management. From there she went on to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing at Siena College. Morgan started at the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties as an Operations Coordinator in 2015. A year later, Morgan moved into the Community Investment Coordinator role where she assists local nonprofit organizations to find financial solutions for

the projects necessary for their organization to be successful. To do so, Morgan provides guidance to nonprofits organizations as needed, reviews proposals and grant applications, works with the Board of Trustees and committees as needed to approve recommendations, communicates results of decisions and monitors the reporting process.

Morgan enjoys being involved in the community by attending local events including the opportunity to meet new people.

Specialties: Morgan specializes in assisting organizations that are looking for funding focused on education, economic development and youth. By building and maintaining partnerships with local organizations, she is able to expand resources, educate the community about the work of the foundation and assist nonprofits, federal agencies and other community organizations to continue to develop in the community.

About: Alana is the Creative Director and Owner of Bella's Event Planning. As Creative Director, Alana guides her clients through the event planning process and helps them create a vision and style for their next event. With a passion for everything event related, whether it be designing centerpieces, styling decor or planning logistics, Alana loves it all!

Before taking over as the new owner of Bella's Event Planning in 2016, Alana ran RE Wedding Planning and graduated from Boston University with a Bachelors degree in Public Relations with a Minor in Marketing and Large Scale Event Planning. During her time in Boston, Alana worked for Harvard Medical School's Special Event Department. This was when she found her talent and passion for special events. From that point, she focused on building her own event planning company and expanding her knowledge of everything and anything event planning related.

When the opportunity to take over Bella's Event Planning came about it truly was a dream come true and a perfect fit for her. Everyday at the office and being with her team is a joy. She has built a team of passionate professionals that she is honored to work with and know will deliver the best quality of service to all of their clients.

About: Carli considers herself a true Utican. Born and raised in Utica, NY. Carli graduated from Mohawk Valley Community College with an Associates in Applied Science in Human Services. Her passion has always been helping others, she begun her career journey doing case management with pregnant adolescents. After volunteering with United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area, she knew this was the agency she wanted to be part of. An agency that looks at our community's most

pressing needs and finds solutions to those problems. Roughly two years after her first volunteer event with United Way VGU, Carli was brought on as a staff person in the fundraising department.

Specialties: Carli now works with small businesses, major corporations, nonprofit organizations, really any business of any size in Oneida and Herkimer counties to assist in creating a workplace culture that promotes philanthropy, volunteerism and community pride. Carli can assist in getting your workplaces involved with United Way through a workplace campaign, a corporate sponsorship, engaging employees in one of the many volunteer opportunities we have or planning a volunteer activity customized to your workplace. United Way VGU also has several boards that are a great way to get involved, such as our Women United and Emerging Leaders United infinity groups.
