About: Anna Faulk owns Incline Business Essentials in Breckenridge, CO which helps small business owners from Denver to Aspen keep up with payables, receivables, payroll, sales tax, insurance compliance, and administrative deadlines.

Anna began her career as an elementary school teacher, but then started her bookkeeping business in 2010 with just a couple of clients. In the beginning, she had a very small client base so she doubled as a bartender for the slowest lunch shifts at a French Restaurant in Denver…..she had the slowest shifts because she was a terrible bartender! But they fed her, and the job afforded her enough time to build her client base.

Over the last 10+ years she has grown her company to a seven-person team.

Specialties: Traditional bookkeeping is a function of crunching numbers. Anna loves to move up a level to analysis and unravel what the numbers actually mean. The numbers paint a picture of the business. They tell a story. By identifying the story, the business owner can learn to write the rest of the story instead of just being along for the ride.

Dana Vander Dussen | Senior Manager

About: Dana is the Senior Manager for Incline Business Essentials in Breckenridge, CO. She graduated with a B.A. in Arts & Applied Science/Paralegal from Eastern New Mexico University. She began working in Property Management and Real Estate part-time her first two years in college.

She then transitioned to a bookkeeper for three large dairy farms where she managed all payroll, invoicing and A/P along with various other accounting responsibilities. This evolved into a full-time position upon graduation where she continued to work until moving to Wisconsin to start a family. Dana spent the next seven years raising their three children until her husband’s job took them to Colorado where she immediately began working for Incline Business Essentials.

Specialties: When Dana first started working with Anna, they had a few clients that came to them as a bookkeeping disaster. Maybe it was their previous bookkeeper, maybe they thought they could keep up? These are usually Dana’s favorite clients. It’s a little bit of a bookkeeping “mystery” because you really have no idea what you will find. She loves to unravel the mess and clean it up. Because of this, Dana has also taken on the role as the Onboarding Specialist, helping new clients get set up with payroll, QBO, sales tax and anything else their business will need.
