About: Kate studied Economics at the University of Reading in England and worked internationally for an investment bank for the first half of her career. After long term assignments in London, Singapore, and New York she relocated to Santa Barbara in 2009 where she started her family and a small business.
Inspired by their mission to ignite learning, Kate joined MOXI, The Wolf Museum of Exploration + Innovation in 2014 as one of the earliest employees. As part of the pre-opening team she helped secure the $27 million in philanthropic funds needed to build the museum. Upon successful completion of the capital campaign Kate launched the museum’s thriving membership program and created partnerships with local foundations and businesses.
Now serving as Director of Development for Women’s Economic Ventures, Kate’s focus is on building financial support for the economic empowerment women. As a former business owner herself she is thrilled to invest her time and energy with an organization that supports female entrepreneurs.
Specialties: Women’s Economic Ventures has been changing the face of business for 27 years with business training, loans and coaching. Kate’s specialty is development, in particular capital campaigns, annual fund development, major gifts, grant writing and reporting, stewardship, and membership programs.
Quote: It’s supposed to be hard. If it was easy, anyone would do it.
