Karen Stillwell | Associate

About: Born and raised in Arizona, Ms. Stillwell is an experienced trial attorney who has seen all three vantage points of a courtroom: as a prosecutor/plaintiff’s attorney, as a defense attorney, and more recently, as a Superior Court Commissioner.

Ms. Stillwell received her Bachelor’s Degree from Northern Arizona University, and J.D. from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law-Arizona State University, with Pro Bono Distinction for dedicating her time volunteering.

While attending Arizona State University College of Law, Ms. Stillwell was an Editor for Jurimetrics: The Journal of Law, Science, and Technology and argued her first case before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals as a law student. After graduating from law school, Ms. Stillwell was a judicial law clerk for the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One. She then practiced complex civil litigation with a large firm in Phoenix. Subsequently, she had a diverse civil litigation practice and served as a city prosecutor in rural Arizona. Ms. Stillwell is now practicing law as a trial attorney for a busy civil litigation firm and serving as a Judge Pro Tempore for Maricopa County Superior Court.

Specialties: Ms. Stillwell specializes in trial and appellate practice in various areas of civil litigation, including general insurance defense, medical malpractice defense, municipal and governmental liability defense, and conducting settlement conferences/mediations on civil litigation matters. In each representation, Ms. Stillwell recognizes the privilege to be an attorney and the obligation to serve the community with integrity, honesty, and sincerity. Ms. Stillwell is not only committed to the services for her clients, she is committed to her family and her community.
