Silicon Valley WIT Chapter: Coming Soon!
For questions, please contact the Silicon Valley WIT Chapter Head, Kim Gaxiola, below.
About: As a CFP® Practitioner and Founder of TechGirl Financial®, Kim advises tech professionals and their families who aspire to a “WORK OPTIONAL” lifestyle. Transitioning clients from a “need to work” position to a financially independent one where clients work because they enjoy it, not because it’s a necessity; that’s the sweet spot for Kim.
With over 15 years of experience as a financial advisor, Kim holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification from the College for Financial Planning
and has served in leadership roles as a KidLead Koach for Lead Young and a network coordinator for Women in Technology Intl (WITI) Silicon Valley chapter.
Giving back to the financial industry and the community is important to Kim. She has contributed insights to industry whitepapers (Fidelity Investments’ Journey to the Top; Time for Technology: Fostering Smarter and Stronger Relationships; and Digging into Digital Advice) and is sought after as an industry leader. She enjoys sharing ideas with others participating on panels for Financial Services Institute, Cambridge Investment Research, and The Wharton Club of Northern California and speaking engagements for women in technology.
Financial Independence starts at home, where Kim enjoys the ability to work with clients she enjoys; have enough time to be present for her two teenage kids; and spend time traveling and cooking with her husband Victor.
Specialties: Being an advocate for women in technology, Kim chose to dedicate her practice to supporting women in their careers by offering advice on corporate benefits such as restricted stock, ESOP plans, 401(k)s, insurance benefits and other individual assets and liabilities accumulated through life. Her virtual practice allows clients to choose meetings online or in the office. This flexibility adds value to clients who have limited time to juggle life, family, finances, and career. The TechGirl blog on her website also compiles insights and best practices for professionals climbing the corporate ladder or start up jungle gym.
