Terri has given her time for over a decade to the senior and special needs communities, making a big impact on her clients and the community. Her creative solutions helps elders and their families with finding programs and resources so older people can stay in their homes longer and avoid or delay nursing homes or care homes. She helps elders find and keep veterans' benefits of Medi-Cal benefits.
Terri writes a monthly column about estate planning for seniors and special needs folks, called "Terri Talks," for the Moorpark Community Link, a monthly business publication. She has served as a panel moderator and keynote speaker on a wide variety of subjects, including caring for seniors, Medi-Cal, long-term care, deed transfers upon death, divorce and estate planning, senior abuse and scams, purposeful estate planning, the Able Act, transition planning and conservatorships for special needs young adults, estate and financial planning, aging, strategies for health and wealth, planned giving, business succession planning, and politics and the special needs community. Her many years of volunteer work and Board of Director leadership with Senior Concerns of the Conejo has assisted countless seniors, their families and caregivers. As well as Board Leadership of Pause4kids providing scholarships for kids with special needs to enhance their lives and fill the gaps.
Terri is actively involved in the community and gives her time to scores of different organizations including the Moorpark Morning Rotary; Conejo Valley Estate Planning Council; Pause4kids, which supports special needs individuals, and Senior Concerns of the Conejo providing services and respite to elders and their caregivers in her community.
She created and founded the successful Pro Bono Panel of Attorneys program called "Legal Concerns" at Senior Concerns, where Hilliard oversees a panel of volunteer, attorneys and lends her expertise in eldercare, estate planning, mediation, and planned giving.
