About: Dawn has found find that her passion lies in helping each person understand their options in regards to what the health insurance they pay for, and be able to make the best choices for their families. Dawn is also passionate about advocating for her clients when it comes to healthcare and the financing of it. As a member of the Los Angeles Chapter board of directors, she served as the Communications Chair in 2013-2014, Secretary 2015, ran for President Elect in 2016 and served as President for 2017-2018 earning the LAAHU Paladin Award, the NAHU Presidential Citation AND Platinum certification for the Los Angeles Chapter. Since then she migrated to the CA State Board (CAHU) as communications chair, re-established the CAHU Foundation, and was recently elected as the CAHU VP of Legislation. She currently serves on the NAHU Medicare Advisory Council as well as the NAHU Chapter Leadership and Development Committee, and was awarded the NAHU Distinguished Service Award in 2021.
Close to Dawn's heart is the topic of Dementia and she is a certified community educator for the Alzheimer's Association; and a vetted professional for Purse Strings, an organization focused on helping women succeed financially with the service of vetted professionals.
Specialties: Dawn is a Guide for the Medicare Maze, as well as able to help find individual and family plans including Covered CA. Dawn's goal is to help clients understand how to best use the plans they choose, and find plans that provide the most value for the budget available. She enjoys helping people understand how the transition to Medicare works because she loves the "aha moment" when what seems complicated becomes clear. All of her services cost the client nothing additional because she is paid by the carriers , and she works with all of the major, and many of the minor, plans available. Dawn makes sure to give you the whole picture, from Part A & B to the Medicare Supplement +PDP vs. the Medicare Advantage paths of coverage.
